Lenovo has confirmed that it will start rolling out the Android Nougat based update for the Moto G4 Play in June. This announcement will come as a welcome news for the Moto G4 Play users as the company has already updated the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus to Nougat last year for users in India.
Moto G4 Play, the third device in the G4 series by Lenovo was launched back in August 2016, three months after the launch of Moto G4 and G4 Plus. The update comes almost five months after the update reached other devices in the line-up as confirmed by Android Authority.
Moto G4 Play packs in a 5-inch HD display sporting a pixel density of 294 ppi. Inside, we get a now ageing Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset paired with 2 GB RAM. You get 16 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that accepts cards of up to 128 GB in capacity.
Coming to the imaging bits, the handset features an 8 MP camera on the back and a 5 MP unit up front. The handset features the usual radios including 4G bands (with support for VoLTE), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz) A-GPS and a microUSB connector at the bottom. The handset is powered by Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, weighs in at 136 gm and features a 2,800 mAh battery that along with a 10 W quick charger delivers 5 hours of battery life with 15 minutes of charge.
