While HMD Global seems to be struggling to keep up with the Nokia 6's demand, all eyes will be on the rumoured Nokia P1 that is expected to be the flagship of this year's Nokia range at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017.
But after a recent filing from Nokia for an N Series trademark in China came to light, there were a couple of new rumours hinting at the revival and re-launch of the N Series. Today, another piece of this puzzle seems to have surfaced online and it happens to be an invite that reveals a 22 February launch date!
Indeed, the date comes a few days before the MWC takes off in Barcelona. The images come from Weibo and were first reported by smartprix.com. The images show a black box with what appears to be a new N Series branding with a bold 'N' and the number 5 encircling the text. The invite gives out not just the 22 February launch date, but also reveals the venue of the launch.
The second image shows the box opened up, to showcase an old Nokia N81 multimedia smartphone. The smartphone was known for its multimedia capabilities, especially music and gaming, and even featured a special button that opened up a multimedia menu (carousel).
While we do understand that the N81 is a multimedia smartphone, the invite does not give out hints as to which specific model HMD plans to bring back from the dead.
We also could not help but notice the 360 Total Security logo on the left top corner of the cover. The last that we heard from the company was when its Qiku Q Terra was launched in India.
