Well, it’s bad news for all of you who dreamed that the upcoming iPhone 7 would arrive in a Space Black . A new leak coming all the way from Italy has revealed that upcoming iPhone 7 will arrive in the same colour options like it did last year – Silver, Slate Grey, Gold and Rose Gold.
While many of us did have our hopes too high, the Darth Vader edition (Space Black) of the iPhone (this is Apple, not Samsung) may never make it and this would probably have something to do with its colouring. Same goes for the Deep Blue option that emerged online. It appears that Apple simply gave up on darker shades after the iPhone 5. The units ended up getting discoloured after minor bumps and scratches leading to shabby appearance even after a few weeks of use.
We aren’t too sure what is Apple’s problem with darker colours. Sony seems to be doing just fine with darker shades so we really wonder where it has something to do with the aluminium being used. Space Black was a distant dream because getting an iPhone in that shade would require it to be made of steel and not aluminium, which is the currently used material. The Apple Watch in the same option does not come cheap either, meaning that an iPhone in the same finish would cost dearer.
While the leaked image shows empty shells, its hard to take a call if these are genuine or not. Still then, there is always this tiny chance of a pricier, stainless steel, Space Black model showing up later during the year, but that just us! The launch of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus is just months away and just recently, even the pricing details leaked out . The same leak also reveals that the iPhone 7 may be available in a third 7 Pro variant this year as well.
