Karbonn Titanium Octane and Octane Plus price slashed; now starting at Rs 11,990

Karbonn has reduced the price of its Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus smartphones, making them available on retail partner Snapdeal for a special price of Rs 11,990 and Rs 13,990 on the occasion of India’s Independence Day.

Both smartphones are powered by 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processors, and were unveiled in March this year, along with a hexa-core smartphone as well.

Titanium Octane Plus features Android 4.4 KitKat as the OS, and along with the beefy CPU, there’s 2GB of RAM, so performance should ideally be snappy. In addition, there’s 16GB internal storage. The display is a 5-inch IPS FHD number. Other specs include a great-sounding 16MP rear camera, and a mindboggling 8MP front camera, with support for 32GB through MicroSD card. Connectivity options include 3G for cellular data, Wi-Fi for Internet access, and GPS for navigation. This is a dual-SIM smartphone, but it’s not likely to deliver great battery life thanks to the meagre-sounding 2000mAh battery.

The non-Plus Titanium Octane features the same OS and processor, but has half the RAM. Karbonn has included a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP secondary camera. This one too gets a 2000 mAh battery, 32GB expandable memory, Wi-Fi.
