Apple’s new software iOS 7 might be hailed as a radical redesign for the company’s mobile software but for some Apple users it is a cause of motion sickness.

Several users are reporting on Apple’s product forum that the zoom animations on the new OS are giving them headaches and motion sickness.

One iPhone 4 user Ensorceled wrote on Apple’s product forum,The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache. It’s exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car. How do I turn them off? Do I have to revert to 6?

Apple's iOS 7 is seen in this screengrab.

Another user dejeant wrote, “I have the same problem. It hurts my eyes and makes me dizzy. So annoying that we can’t downgrade!!!! Really unhappy with Apple on this one :-(”

knphoto10 wrote, “I thought I was going crazy today after I updated my phone and I noticed I was feeling queasy every time I used it. Now I see I am not alone! I just used my phone for about 20 minutes and now I feel like I’m going to vomit. There has to be a way to turn this off!

iOS 7 has a new zoom feature which allows users to zoom into a certain area of screen by double-tapping three fingers. When users switch between apps, iOS 7 zooms in and out, in a much faster speed, almost like you are flying into the app. You can switch off the Zooming affect by going into Accessibility under general settings and switch of the Zoom affect.

There’s also the Parallax effect which makes home screen icons float when you move the iPhone around (you can read more about Apple’s Parallax effect in detail on Wired). Apple also has a new Reduce Motion option in the settings of iOS 7 which will switch off the parallax effect for users. This too is available in the Accessibility settings.

Apple hasn’t responded to the complaints yet.
