Images of Razer's gaming oriented smartphone allegedly leaked; expected to come with Snapdragon 835 SoC, 8 GB RAM

Images of **Razer** ’s gaming oriented smartphone have allegedly leaked. The smartphone appears to be a largish slate, with a clean and simple design with a large Razer logo on the back. There is a dual camera setup on the back, along with a flash. There is only one image out, and according to the leak, the device sports a 5.7-inch screen, with a resolution of 2,540 x 1,440 pixels. The phone apparently has 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB of onboard storage, and is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor. [caption id=“attachment_4146335” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Image: TechByte[/caption] The image appeared in the Slovak publication TechByte, from a source involved with testing the device.  In September, Razer had indicated that it would soon be announcing a **gaming-oriented smartphone** . Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan told CNBC, “One of the most hotly rumored things about Razer is that we’re coming up with a mobile device. And I can say that we are coming up with a mobile device specifically geared toward gamers and entertainment. We’re hoping to have it come … by the end of the year, so that’s something we’re working on.” Razer is expected to officially unveil the smartphone on the 1 November event that it has scheduled, which the company refers to as its “biggest unveiling” so far. Razer has tweeted out a teaser that shows an individual staring into the screen of a rather large device, with the word “Watch” overlaid.

Developing a smartphone is a foray into a new product category for Razer, but the company has **acquired NextBit** , the makers of a cloud-oriented smartphone known as the **NextBit Robin** . Razer **stopped technical support** for the NextBit Robin soon after the acquisition. The leaked images show a phone that is very similar to the NextBit Robin in design.
