Huawei has launched a successor to the Honor V8 called the Honor V9. The new smartphone goes with a new design but sticks to the dual camera set up for the rear. The smartphone for now has only been launched in China with a base price of CNY 2599 (roughly Rs 25,000) and is currently up for pre-order.
While there are no details about the launch of the V9 in India, we do know that the Chinese version of the smartphone will come in three variants. There's a 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage variant as the base model and two others that feature 6GB of RAM along with 64GB or 128GB internal storage. All three models support micro SD storage expansion that is limited to 128GB micro SD cards.
While the new smartphone once again goes with a metal design, the insides have changed drastically.
With a 5.7-inch QHD LTPS display on top, Huawei utilises its own HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset inside that features a Mali G71MP8 GPU.
Like the V8, there is a dual camera setup at the back with a 12MP CMOS sensor that should deliver some stunning bokeh shots. On the front sits an 8MP sensor for selfies.
There a also a larger 3,900mAh battery that now comes with fast-charging. The smartphone includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a USB Type C port at the bottom. The fingerprint reader like the past sits on the back of the device. The Honor V9 is currently up for pre-order in China in Blue, Black, Red and Gold finishes. The handset runs Android Nougat with Huawei's EMUI 5.0 skinning to keep things refreshed.
