Huami a partner for Xiaomi’s wearables has introduced a new smartwatch, the Amazfit Verge for fitness enthusiasts in India. Launched at Rs 11,999, the new Huami wearable will be available exclusively on Amazon. The Amazefit Verge will be up for sale starting 15 January via the website in three colour options- Moonlight White, Sky Grey and Twilight Blue.
The new Huami Amazfit Verge includes a bunch of interesting features which makes it worth considering for the price. First up, the wearable comes with an optical heart rate sensor, 13 watch faces, and a built-in GPS. The watch faces are said to be designed in collaboration with Territory Studio, a San Francisco based company. As per the company, the smartwatch has voice-controlled AI (artificial intelligence) and it enables the user to record 11 different sports and fitness activities including running, trail run, climb, tennis, skiing, outdoor cycling etc courtesy of the smart sport tracking technology. The smartwatch is water and dust resistant and comes with an IP68 rating.
The Amazfit Verge features a 1.3-inch AMOLED display. The round-shaped dial has Corning's Gorilla 3 and AF coating above its display to save it against scratches and smudges. The new Huami wearable is powered by a dual-core processor, which is clocked at 1.2 GHz. There's 4 GB of internal storage out of which 2.4 GB is accessible.
Besides having the capability to record nearly 11 different sports, the Amazfit Verge can track distance, time, pace, speed as well. Android users can simply connect to the smartwatch to make calls and get real-time notifications. The device can stream music as well when connected to Bluetooth earphones. As per Huami, the Amazfit Verge can provide a 5-day average run time on a single charge.
