Google has made great strides in its bid to streamline internet connectivity for the entire world. With features like offline playback on YouTube, the data saver on Google Chrome and the introduction of free Wi-Fi in multiple locations in India, Google has done a lot.

Adding to those features is Google’s offline search mode. You might be scratching your head and wondering what we’re on about. Offline search? We download the internet onto our phones?

Nothing of the sort.

Offline search by Google will simply let you queue up a search query even when you have no internet access. When you eventually connect to the internet, Google will search for and send you results. Together with the data saver features, Google’s offline search should ease the problems of commuting and spotty connections to some degree.

Google insists that the feature will not adversely affect the battery life of your device. Results will be presented in the form of streamlined search pages, which are lighter on your network as well as on your device.

The new offline search feature is already available on Android devices running the latest version of the Google search app.

Do try it out and let us know what you think.
