Google has gone one step further from the No Captcha Recaptcha that allows users to attest that they are humans and not machines, by getting rid of the captcha window altogether . Google is using machine learning and advanced risk analysis to continually evolve the Recaptcha system, and adapt it to new threats. Over a billion malicious bots have been prevented by accessing web sites according to Google.
The measure is aimed at improving the user experience. Humans will be allowed to go to the web site without even have to clicking on a single checkbox. When Google detects bot like activity, or suspicious users, these sources of traffic will be served with one of the Recaptcha challenges. The challenges are designed to be trivial for human users, but extremely difficult for automated agents to solve.
Web developers registered with the Recaptcha API will now have two options to choose from. The invisible Recaptcha option validates humans in the background, without interrupting the browsing experience. The Recaptcha v2 is the previous implementation of the Recaptcha, which delivers users with the No Captcha Recaptcha text box, and at times requires users to solve a series of challenges before being allowed to browse a web site. Interested developers can register for the invisible Recaptcha here .
