Fujitsu’s new F703i handset is a thin clamshell that’s also waterproof.

The FOMA handset for NTT DoCoMo doesn’t sound so slim at 17.9mm, but Fujitsu claims that it is the world’s thinnest waterproof phone. It can reportedly stay unaffected underwater for up to 30 minutes, although at a low depth of only one meter. That means you can do whatever you want with it in your bathtub without worrying about getting the phone wet. For example…

The F703i has a 1.3 megapixel primary camera and a 0.1 megapixel secondary camera for video calling. 0.1 sounds a little too low — other parts of the world make do with 0.3 at least. It has a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a microSD memory card slot and your usual multimedia jazz along with support for Napster and Chaku-Uta Full, whatever that is.
