2014: Since the IPO of Twitter in 2013, the stock price plunged from $73 to $37 a year later in 2014. The abysmal IPO coupled with an unsuccessful monetisation strategy casted widespread doubt over Costolo’s ability to boost earnings.
2013: TIME names him as one of the 10 Most Influential US Tech CEOs . According to the report, Twitter valued at $10 billion has successfully transformed media, entertainment and politics. In fact, the service has allowed celebrities, politicians and prominent personalities connect with their audience and removed the traditional use of middlemen.
