Bing Launches iOS App that Takes Panorama Photos

Bing’s launched a free iOS app, Photosynth, that allows you to take panorama pictures with your iOS device. The app was formerly just a web service and now is pretty easy to use. You launch the app, tap to start, move the device around the room, tapping to take every corner of the room. When finished, the app will piece all the pictures you take together and make a 360 degree panorama picture you can then share on Facebook, the Photosynth website , or on Bing Maps.

The Photosynth app is free for iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs, iPod Touch Fourth Generation, and the iPad 2 running iOS 4.1 and later. The app will soon come to Windows phones, too. This isn’t the only panorama application that you can get for your iOS device (another being 360 Panorama ) but it is free and the cool part is the sharability to Bing Maps.

Paddy does not, we repeat, definitely does NOT belong in the category of Mac-head (yeh right!). She does get excited by her iPhone and her iMac and her iPod Nano and her Macbook and Bali's iPad and her future iHouse (patent pending). Ok, so maybe her head is a little bit forbidden fruit shaped. She likes shooting video (iPhone 4 camera zindabad!) and editing montages (Final Cut Pro zindabad!), whether the scene calls for it or no. In her spare time, she's either kicking it on stage with KB the keyboard or kicking butt at Taekwondo. see more
