Celebrating its 20th anniversary in the Indian automobile market, **Hyundai** today announced its lineup for Auto Expo 2018. Hyundai Motors India will showcase a total of 15 cars and share a range of other projects and advancements with visitors at the event.
The company’s MD & CEO, YK Koo had **already revealed** that the company would feature the Ioniq electric car at the event, while there were rumours of the Kona SUV debuting as well. Putting all rumours to bed, Hyundai’s statement today does confirm that we will be seeing both vehicles at the event.
The **Ioniq EV** sedan is claimed by Hyundai to be the first car to be offered in three electrified drivetrains, namely, a hybrid, plug-in and an all-electric version. All three versions will be available at Hyundai’s ‘Eco-Friendly Zone’ which would be one of the carmaker’s nine zones on display.
The **Kona SUV**, on the other hand, is something the company has successfully launched in the US and could launch in India. The Kona SUV is also an electric vehicle but does feature a different drivetrain than the one on the Ionic. Hyundai claims that the compact SUV features cutting-edge connectivity and class-leading safety features, which will be on display at the event.
Alongside the two vehicles, which will be the highlights of Hyundai’s presence at the event, the company is also expected to unveil the facelifted version of the i20, which is expected to feature CVT for 2018. the company aims to make a bigger splash at this year’s auto show. The company is also hosting a number of exhibits for visitors in dedicated zones for robotics, sports technology, road safety and also a zone for kids.
Commenting on Hyundai’s expectation for **Auto Expo 2018**, YK Koo said, “Hyundai is celebrating 20 years of its production and sales in India. This year our theme for Auto Expo 2018 is ‘Experience Hyundai’ showcasing eco-friendly, mobility and connected technologies along with 15 trendsetter products.”
