While the world awaits the launch of the new iPhone 7 models, one question that has been keeping many Apple fans puzzled and awake through the nights would indeed be whether Apple will launch two or three models of the iPhone 7.
Well, fans of all things Apple, fear not, because a curious redditor (Jaspergreenham) who was browsing through the Apple website came across some additions in the accessories section that finally put the long established rumours to rest. In short, there will be just two iPhones this year and they will be called the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
The same was first reported by BGR with the source showing a screenshot (shown below) of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus names getting listed on the company’s Hong Kong website.
The redditor also mentions that Apple was smart enough to notice that something that was meant to be a secret was revealed and quickly took down the listing which disappeared after he refreshed the page.
With this confirmed the world (and Apple’s competitors) can get a peaceful night’s sleep knowing that Apple will not have a Pro model of the iPhone 7 as was leaked in previous rumours. More importantly with the iPhone 7 Pro out of the way, fans out here in India will not need to expect an even bigger price hike to get the best iPhone hardware.
The iPhone 7 Pro was expected to pack in Smart Connectors on the back similar to what we have seen on Apple’s iPad Pro models. However with just two iPhone models, Apple better have some surprises at the launch event since not too many are willing to upgrade to iPhone 7 as this survey points out .
