Indian users to get one year free access to ‘ChatGPT Go’ from November 4

OpenAI announced on Tuesday that the Indian users can freely access ‘ChatGPT Go’ for one year. The company sees India as the second-largest market for ChatGPT after America.

OpenAI will allow the users in India to freely access “ChatGPT Go” for one year who sign up for a limited proportional period which will come in force by November 4. The company is planning to expand its area by certain marketing strategies.

OpenAI announced this offering on Tuesday benefitting the non-subscribers and those who are already the existing ChatGPT Go subscribers will be accessible for an additional 12-month plan.  

While the regular ChatGPT allows the user to generate context with certain instructions provided, the newer Go version offers increased limits, clear image generation, and file uploads. It gives access to a more advanced LLM model with higher memory of the earlier chats.

India the second biggest market of GPT

OpenAI sees India as the second-largest market for ChatGPT after America. The app saw over 29 million downloads in the 90 days leading up to August, but generated just $3.6 million in in-app purchases during that period, according to Appfigures data reviewed by TechCrunch.  

In the first month of the launch of ChatGPT, the number of paid subscribers doubled in India.  

According to PTI, Vice President and Head of ChatGPT, Nick Turley said, “Since initially launching ChatGPT Go in India a few months ago, the adoption and creativity we’ve seen from our users has been inspiring.”
