President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission Swami Atmasthanandaji Maharaj passed away at a city hospital on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Ramakrishna Math and call on Ramakrishna Mission's president Swami Atmasthananda during his trip to West Bengal on 9 May. If reports are to be believed, it was this swami who had adviced PM Modi to join politics, a step that eventually changed his life.
