Novak Djokovic is an out and out entertainer. He is among the best tennis players the sport has seen and with his top-notch humour, he is also amusing his fans all the time. Another moment where the 24-time Grand Slam showed off his funny instinct came on Wednesday during a practice game ahead of the Australian Open.

The 38-year-old was up against Daniil Medvedev in a practice match to warm up for the Australian Open. During the match, as Djokovic was preparing to serve, someone from the crowd shoted: “Let’s go Roger”.

Djokovic suddenly stopped and the crowd started laughing. He too joined in and acted to laugh twice in an exaggerated way to further entertain the crowd at the stadium. He then went on to serve as usual.

Djokovic’s injury spark Australian Open concerns

Age is taking its toll on the Serb legend and he has to carefully choose which tournaments he is going to participate in. In order to manage his workload, Djokovic missed the recent Adelaide International, focusing totally on season’s first Grand Slam.

However, reports suggest there could be concerns over his fitness. During a practice session, he was seen receiving treatment on the back of his neck. His long-time physiotherapist Miljan Amanovic massaged over the back of his neck for some time and Djokovic then could not continue. He had to cut short his second practice session after just 12 minutes due to the discomfort.

Djokovic has not played since November when he won in Athens and pulled out of the tournament in Adelaide saying that he was “not quite physically ready to compete." Seeded fourth for the upcoming Australian Open, Djokovic opens his quest for historic 25th Grand Slam on Sunday against Pedro Martinez of Spain.

With just three days left for his season opener, the tennis world’s eyes will be on Djokovic’s fitness.
