Paris Paralympics 2020 Day 5 LIVE: With seven medals already in the bag, India will aim to have a memorable day on 2 September (Monday) as Indian athletes are set to take part in multiple medal matches with three of them already confirmed in badminton. By reaching the final in para-badminton, Suhas Yathiraj, Thulasimathi Murugesan, and Nitesh Kumar have already assured at least three silver medals for India. All three shuttles will be in action in gold medal matches on Monday.

Also in action will be defending champion Sumit Antil along with Sandip Ssargar and Sandeep in the men’s javelin throw F64 final, while Yogesh Kathuniya will take part in the men’s discus throw F56 final. Yogesh is a silver medallist at the Paralympics. Kanchan Lakhani will take part in the women’s discus throw F53 final.

Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi will take part in the para-archery mixed team compound open quarter-finals with medal matches also lined up for today, while in shooting, Nihal Singh and Amir Bhat will be in action in P3 mixed 25m pistol SH1 qualification. The final is also scheduled for Monday.

More medals are possible in para-badminton with Nithya Sre Sivan and Sivarajan Solaimalai fighting for bronze in SH6 mixed doubles. Nithya Sre Sivan will also compete for bronze in the SH6 women’s singles event.
