Here’s a look at the final standings of the men’s javelin throw F64 final, in which Sumit Antil retained his gold with a record throw:

With India having won 14 medals, let’s now take a look at the updated medals tally. The medals tally is being led by China with 42 gold medals in total. India are in 14th place with 14 medals (Three gold, five silver and six bronze).

Sumit Antil, who broke the Paralympic record, remains on top of the standings in the men’s javelin throw F64 final, with a best throw of 70.59m. Here’s a look at the latest standings, with almost every athlete having completed three throws:

Indian archers Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi lost their mixed team compound semi-final against Iran’s Hadi Nori and Fatemeh Hemmati via shoot-off. Both teams scored 10 each in the shoot-off, but the Iran pair progressed. But why?

That’s because the Iran pair managed to shoot from the closest distance from the centre of the target, which was 1.1mm. The Indian duo, though,  were 19.3mm far from the centre of the target.

The men’s javelin throw F64 final is underway. Sumit Antil, Sandip Sargar and Sandeep are the athletes representing India. Sumit is the defending champion, having won gold in Tokyo.
