Tai Tzu Ying scripts history; wins women’s singles: 21-16, 22-20
Top seed Tai Tzu made a sensational comeback from 17-20 to 22-20 against Intanon to become the first ever Chinese Taipei shuttler to win the All England Championships. Notably, it was her forecourt masterclass that made all the difference just when Intanon thought she had got the second game under her control. The backhand, round-the-head and net shots are all worth talking whereas Intanon relied on her court-coverage and drop shots which clearly was not enough.

Intanon’s quick wrist shots have surprised Tai Tzu in the second game. Well, she is known for changing a soft shot into a faster passing one. Intanon leads 11-7 at the break of the second game. Will she win this?
Tai Tzu Ying claims first game: 21-16
Top seed Tai Tzu’s aggressive approach has done the trick after a series of unforced errors in the first half of the first game. Her drives and footwork near the forecourt have taken the game away from Intanon.

It is fair to say that Tai Tzu is very good at ney-plays. The way she hits the shuttle with power is just mesmerising. She leads 16-13 in the first game.
12-12! Both shuttlers are now playing a mix of attack and defence in the first game. Although, Intanon looks more comfortable than Tai Tzu, especially with her backhand shots
4-4! As expected, the game has already produced brilliant crosscourt shots from both ends. This match promises to be the best of the lot.
Women’s singles final: Tai Tzu Ying vs Ratchanok Intanon
Get ready for the battle between the current World No. 1 and the former World No. 1 in the final of the women’s singles at the All England Championships. Thai Ratchanok Intanon leads 7-6 against Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu in the overall head-to-head meetings. No shuttler from either Thailand or Chinese Taipei has won the All-England title.

Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo win their fifth Super Series title after defeating favourites Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen in straight games. They completely outclassed their opponents with incredible net-flicks and unmatchable tuning. Kevin Sanjaya’s performance in the second game proved to be the game-changer

The understanding between the Indonesian pair is doing all the damage for Chinese duo Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen. Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo lead 18-12 in the second game.

Indonesian pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo edge past the Chinese pair in the first game after all the tiring rallies and incredible reflexes!

Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo leads 14-11 in the first game. Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen are inviting the pressure. Who will win the first game?
It’s 7-7 in the men’s doubles final as both the pairs have so far relied on their attacks. This is turning out to be one of the best attacking matches of the tournament!
Men’s doubles: Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen vs Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo
Next up will be the men’s doubles final between sixth seed Chinese pair Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen and Indonesian pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. The Chinese pair have an upper hand, having defeated them once before at the Vietnam Open in 2015.

Chang Ye-Na-Lee/So-hee win women’s doubles: 21-18, 21-13
Chang Ye-Na-Lee/So-hee have triggered Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen’s weak areas and clearly got the better of them quite easily in the second game to win the All-England women’s doubles title!

Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen squandered the lead and allowed the Korean pair to attack more during the final part of the first game. They will now have to come back in the second game.
18-18! Chang Ye-Na-Lee/So-hee won’t give up easily! They are now targeting the basepoint where Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen have dropped the most number of points. What a contest!
In the second half of the first game, Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen have taken the lead 16-14 with quick-fire smashes on the tramline.
Clever shot selection by the Danish pair there but they still trail 9-11 at the break of the first game. Chang Ye-Na-Lee/So-hee have been more direct so far.

Women’s doubles: Chang Ye-Na/Lee So-hee vs Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen
After the men’s singles, let’s shift our focus to the women’s doubles where fourth seed Korean pair Chang Ye-Na/Lee So-hee face second seed Danish pair Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen.
One for the Malaysian fans! Lee Chong Wei did say that he will be back next year in Birmingham in search of his fifth All-England title. This is some news.

He has done it! The Malaysian ace bossed the court to trounce China’s Shi Yuqi to claim his fourth All-England men’s singles title. A clinical performance by Chong Wei who smashed left, right and centre to bring the house down!

18-9! Lee Chong Wei’s accuracy is unmatchable as Shi Yuqi is clearly struggling to even get close to the shuttle. He has now smashed in all four corners and looks unstoppable.
Lee Chong Wei is running away with the lead 10-5! It is becoming difficult for Shi Yuqi to handle Chong Wei’s attack. All he needs to do right now is focus on his net-play to cause some problems for Chong Wei.

Dominant performance by Lee Chong Wei in the first game. Never really gave Shi Yuqi the chance to settle and has covered the court quite comfortably.

Lee Chong Wei has now delivered three deadly smashes in a row! He leads 11-7 at the break of the first game against Shi Yuqi. The Malaysian is comfortably reading the game. Yuqi needs to target the tramline to stop Chong Wei.
Well, Shi Yuqi won’t let Chong Wei win easily. He smashes an unplayable shot to make it 4-4 in the first game.
