Liverpool were the biggest winners on the transfer deadline day, while Manchester United signed a new goalkeeper on late Monday night before the player exchange for English Premier League clubs came to an end . Despite signing striker Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool had been chasing Alexander Isak all summer transfer window and their wish finally came true on deadline day.

Liverpool landed the 25-year-old striker Isak from Newcastle on a reported fee of £125 million after their initial bid of £110 million was rejected by the Magpies.

Liverpool break record for Isak

With the Isak deal, Liverpool have created a new British transfer record. The earlier record was held by Chelsea, who paid £107 million to Benfica for Enzo Fernandez in February 2023.

“I feel amazing,” Isak said after joining Liverpool. “It’s been a long journey to get here. But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’m just happy it’s done and that I can get back to work. I’m looking forward to seeing my team-mates and the fans, and getting back out there. I want to win everything.”

Liverpool also tried to sign England defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, but reportedly, the deal was called off at the very end by the London club.

Having already signed Florian Wirtz earlier in the season, Liverpool emerged as one of the biggest winners of the transfer window.

Newcastle, meanwhile, signed forward Yoane Wissa for £55 million from Brentford.

Man United sign GK Lammens

Man United made another big move in the transfer window on deadline day as they acquired the services of former Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who is set to become the first-choice at Old Trafford. United pursued Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez for a while but settled for Lammens at the end.

United paid a £18 million fee for Lammens, who will compete with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir at the Red Devils.

“It is a real dream come true,” Lammens said. “The past few years have been an amazing journey; it’s now ended in an incredible destination and hopefully the beginning of something special.

“You can feel the positive atmosphere that is being created here, and I know that I can make a real impact at the club in the coming years.”

United also sold Antony to Real Betis , sent Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli on a loan, and Jadon Sancho joined Aston Villa on loan.

Villa also acquired Harvey Elliott on loan from Liverpool.

United had earlier bought Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko as they ended the transfer window on a strong note.

Hincapie joins Arsenal

Arsenal’s last big splash in the transfer market was adding Ecuador defender Piero Hincapie to the squad from Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan. “Piero has a real physical presence, with his versatility and tactical flexibility giving us strong added defensive options,” said Mikel Arteta. “He is a big character, with a very good combination of both youth and maturity.”

Arsenal’s other biggest transfers for the 2025 summer window include top players like Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi and Cristhian Mosquera.

Other major transfers included Tottenham Hotspur bringing in Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani on loan, as Nicolas Jackson left Chelsea on a loan deal to Bayern Munich.
