Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has reportedly been offered a whopping £65 million mega-deal by Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal for just two years.,it has been reported. Salah is currently in the final season of the contract with the English Premier League leaders and has not agreed to a new deal with Liverpool .

Amid the uncertainty of his future, British tabloid newspaper The Sun has reported that Al-Hilal are ready to offer Salah an insane amount of money to join the Riyadh-based club ahead of the inaugural 2025 FIFA Club World Cup which will be played from 15 June to 13 July in the USA.

While the summer transfer window in Europe generally starts in June, FIFA has said that clubs participating in the 2025 Club World Cup will be provided an extra transfer “window” to acquire players ahead of the tournament.

Photoshopped picture of Salah leads to rumours

The story about Salah possibly joining the Saudi Pro League next season began after one of the country’s ministers posted the footballer’s photo in the Al-Hilal shirt. The photo was posted on Facebook by Turki Alalshikh, who is chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and the adviser at the Royal Court under the rank of Minister.

Alalshikh has played a pivotal role in bringing major professional boxing matches to Saudi Arabia and is seen as a close ally of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

It’s expected that if Al-Hilal signs Salah, the majority of his salary payment will be made through the Saudi Public Investment Fund after the approval from Mohammed bin Salman.

It has to be noted that as Salah is nearing the end of his contract with Liverpool and Al-Hilal would not be required to pay any transfer money.

Why Saudi Arabia wants Salah?

Salah is one of the best players in the world, so it is self-explanatory that Saudi Arabia wants the 32-year-old Egyptian to join the Saudi Pro League. Over the last few years, Saudi Arabia has also acquired other big names, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, who currently play for different clubs in the league.

Salah has been in blistering form with 18 goals and 13 assists to his name in the ongoing season as Liverpool lead the Premier League with 47 points from 20 matches.

The other factor that makes Salah even more special for the Middle Eastern country is that he is one of the most prominent Muslim players in the world. Salah joining the Saudi Pro League will strengthen the case they have named as the hosts of the 2034 FIFA World Cup .

At Liverpool, Salah has won one Premier League title, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Champions League trophy.
