Marcus Rashford might not return to Manchester United as he does not fit into Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans. The English striker has been in stunning form this season for Barcelona, where he is currently on loan, but that is unlikely to convince Amorim of bringing him back.

After falling out of favour with Amorim late last year, Rashford joined Aston Villa on a loan for the rest of the season. He was loaned to Laliga giants Barcelona for this season with an option of signing on a permanent basis for around £30 million.

Rashford has been impressive for Barcelona and is establishing himself as a regular fixture in Hansi Flick’s frontline. The English international has already struck six goals and assisted nine more for Flick’s side.

United not keen on having Rashford back

Despite hitting top form, Rashford is unlikely to return to United , a club where he had been since his youth years. Reports suggest that the management has decided that his time at the Old Trafford is over.

According to Sport, both Amorim and the club’s board are on board with the decision to not bring Rashford back at United for next season.

Rashford happy at Barcelona

Rashford seems to have found his groove in Barcelona and is enjoying his time there.

In a recent interview with ESPN, the English star had confirmed that he was willing to extend his stay in Spain.

“I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it is an honour,” Rashford had stated.

Barcelona too want him to stay but reports suggest that the club’s financial woes mean that Rashford will be told to take a pay cut . If the striker does not agree at a reduced amount, it could bring other clubs into the fray.
