Lionel Messi GOAT India Tour 2025 LIVE: Argentine football legend Lionel Messi begins his three-day 'GOAT' Tour of India on Saturday, 13 December in the Kolkata, returning to the ‘City of Joy’ for the first time since 2011. Messi will be accompanied by Argentina teammate Rodrigo de Paul as well as Uruguayan star Luis Suarez – both of whom play alongside him at Inter Miami – during the tour.
Messi, who had featured in Argentina’s friendly fixture against Venezuela at Kolkata’s iconic Salt Lake Stadium in 2011, will be visiting Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi as well during the packed three-day trip. The Barcelona legend will be traveling to Hyderabad on the same day as his visit to Kolkata – where he will be unveiling a 70-foot statue of himself and meeting Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan in addition to an appearance at the Salt Lake Stadium.
Messi to visit Mumbai and Delhi after Kolkata and Hyderabad on Day 1
He will then travel to Mumbai on Sunday, 14 December, where he will be participating in a celebrity football match and will also be walking on the ramp in a charity fashion show. Messi will then travel to New Delhi on the final day of his GOAT India Tour, where he will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will also be attending an event at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi is widely considered among the greatest players in the history of the sport. After spending 17-years with Spanish giants FC Barcelona followed by a two-year spell with Paris Saint-Germain, Messi currently represents Inter Miami in Major Soccer League, helping the club that’s co-owned by English football legend David Beckham win their maiden MLS Cup title last week.
Messi, who had made his international debut in 2005, had helped Argentina reach the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and win their third world title eight years later in Qatar. He is expected to make his final appearance for ‘La Albiceleste’ in the next World Cup – which will be co-hosted by USA, Mexico and Canada next summer.
