The last six entrants for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are set to be decided on Tuesday, March 31 as four European and two inter-continental play-off games take place on the same day concluding the qualification journey for the 48-team tournament.
Eight European sides, including four-time World Cup winners Italy, are in the fray for the four European slots while four teams, two from South America and one each from Africa and Asia, will go head to head for the two remaining spots.
As the qualification for the biggest ever FIFA World Cup enters its final day, we look at all the match-ups that will decide who else travels to the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.
FIFA World Cup UEFA Playoffs
One-third of the 48 teams participating in the World Cup are European. 12 have already qualified, four spots are still up for grabs. Four match-ups will take place to determine the final four entrants from Europe. The winner of these fixtures will go through to the main World Cup. Below are the match-ups and timings

FIFA World Cup Inter-confederation Playoffs
The inter-confederation playoffs have four teams vying for the remaining two slots. CONCACAF’s Jamaica will take on CAF’s DR Congo in Guadalajara while AFC’s Iraq and CONMEBOL’s Bolivia will lock horns to conclude the qualifying for the World Cup.
