Several clubs are expressing an interest in signing Nicolas Jackson after the striker arrived at an agreement to part ways with Chelsea. At least five teams are eyeing the Senegalese striker, who had joined the Blues in 2023 from Villarreal in 2023 and had scored 24 goals in 65 appearances since then.
Jackson, however, has his eyes set on Newcastle United with Eddie Howe's team likely to part ways with their Swedish striker Alexander Isak sooner rather than later, according to Daily Express.
33-time Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have made contact with Jackson’s representatives, hoping to fill the gap in the team caused by a long-term injury to attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala, as per The Sun.
Also in the fray are Italian giants AC Milan and Napoli, the latter having won their fourth title last season.
Why Jackson’s expressing interest in Newcastle United
Jackson, however, has expressed his desire to remain in the Premier League for now. Aston Villa have also expressed an interest in him and manager Unai Emery has previously worked with Jackson during his stint as Villarreal manager.
The striker, however, appears to have his sights set on a move to St James’ Park, where Howe is said to be on the lookout for Isak's replacement despite Newcastle turning down a £110 million offer from Liverpool.
That Newcastle beat Villa to the final Champions League spot on the 2024-25 table on goal difference after both teams finished on 66 points at the end of the season is also what draws Jackson to the former.
Villa will be playing the Europa League along with Nottingham Forest while Newcastle have qualified for the Champions League along with champions Liverpool as well as Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Jackson currently finds himself surplus to Chelsea’s requirements for the upcoming season. Enzo Maresca’s side, recently crowned champions of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup after defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the final, have signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap from Brighton and Ipswich Town respectively.
With their attack stacked currently, Jackson was left out of Chelsea’s squad that faced Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.
