Cricketer Yuvraj Singh said he was disappointed with Lance Armstrong consuming performance enhancing drugs, but said he would continue to be inspired by him.
In an interview to CNN-IBN, Singh said Armstrong was a big inspiration to him during his dark days of cancer, but he went on to say that any sport should be a drug-free sport.
“He (Lance) will always be my hero because he fought cancer and came back to the sport. But what happened in the sport is not delightful,” Singh said.
“I have no grudge against him, but a lot of people have been let down.”
The United States Anti-Doping Agency had in 2012 slapped Armstrong with a lifetime ban and stripped him of his titles and called him a “serial cheat.”
Earlier this year, Armstrong said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that the lifetime ban against him is like a “death penalty.”
He added that he had no ambitions to return to professional cycling but would like to compete in sanctioned athletic events.
