
India-US trade deal in last lap, Goyal says pact likely to get operational in April
India and the US are likely to sign an interim trade agreement in March, effective from April, with duty concessions on various goods. India's free trade agreements with the UK and Oman are expected to be operational in April, and with New Zealand in September. The US will reduce tariffs on Indian goods from 25% to 18% and has removed punitive tariffs related to Russian oil purchases.
