The national executive of the Shiv Sena on Saturday passed a resolution authorising Maharashtra Chief Minister and party chief Uddhav Thackeray to take action against the rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde. The executive also passed a resolution that no other political outfit can use the name Shiv Sena and the name of its founder, late Bal Thackeray. “The executive decided that Shiv Sena belongs to Bal Thackeray and is committed to taking forward his fierce ideology of Hindutva and Marathi pride. Shiv Sena will never deviate from this path,” party MP Sanjay Raut said. “It passed a resolution, giving all powers to take action against those who have betrayed the party to Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray,” Raut told reporters. Shiv Sena supporters detained for pelting stones at office of Shinde’s son At least five Shiv Sena supporters were detained on Saturday in Thane district for allegedly pelting stones at the office of Shrikant Shinde, Lok Sabha MP from Kalyan and son of Shiv Sena rebel leader Eknath Shinde. The incident took place at the Gol Maidan office in Ulhasnagar of the LS MP at 1pm and a video of it had gone viral on social media soon after. It showed some persons throwing stones at the office, damaging a board and also shouting pro-Uddhav Thackeray slogans. Earlier in the day, Section 144 was imposed in Shinde’s stronghold Thane. Security has also been beefed up outside his home in the city.

Maharashtra Police later imposed Section 144 or curfew in Mumbai. The move comes after Shiv Sena workers vandalised the office of an MLA belonging to rebel leader Eknath Shinde’s camp. The Mumbai police have deployed its personnel at the city-based offices of various political parties and leaders, including ministers, MLAs and MPs, and their residences as a security measure, an official said on Saturday.
The instructions to remain alert and to provide security was taken at a meeting chaired by Mumbai Police commissioner Sanjay Pandey, where senior officials including the joint police commissioner (law and order), additional commissioners and zonal DCPs were present, he said.
The prohibitory orders issued by the city police under section 37 of the Mumbai Police (MP) Act in the first week of June, ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, will continue to remain in place till July 10. It bans the assembly of five or more persons at one place.
On Friday, the police went on an alert after receiving information that “Shiv Sainiks were expected to hit the streets.” With inputs from agencies Read all the Latest News , Trending News ,  Cricket News , Bollywood News , India News and Entertainment News here.
