Team Anna rift: Santosh Hegde speaks out against Bedi

Justice Santosh Hegde today, distanced himself from the team even more, as he told CNN-IBN that Kiran Bedi was wrong if she had not informed her hosts of inflated travel bills. Bedi, had justified charging others inflated bills by saying that it was for a larger cause. We disagreed .

Justice Hegde, who is reportedly upset over the conduct of some of the members of team Anna, made it clear that he was with team Anna only on the corruption issue and he has his own views on all other issues including Kashmir and Kejriwal’s comments on Congress. However he reiterated that he will not quit team Anna and back him in his anti corruption campaign.

Justice Santosh Hegde has disapproved of the anti-Congress campaign by fellow Arvind Kejriwal during the Hisar bypolls, saying it was not the right thing to do and “we jumped the gun”.

He had also reacted strongly to Anna’s ‘dictum’ to parliament during the Lokpal negotiations as undemocratic. “I feel I am not in Team Anna any more by the way things are going. These (telling Parliament what to do) are not democratic things,” said Hegde, who till recently served as Karnataka Lokayukta.
