Two big stories dominate Indian media today, but we have chosen to concentrate on some lesser covered stories which are however extremely significant. The two big stories are, of course, former Indian President Abdul Kalam’s assertion that the Kudankulam nuclear power plant is perfectly safe and the violence that broke out at a Kejriwal led meeting between some Anna supporters and their rivals.
The stories we have chosen for the day however are based in Kashmir and London. In Kashmir, it turns out that Congress heir apparent Rahul Gandhi has asked his party members in Kashmir to stop attacking Omar Abdullah and his proposal to withdraw the Armed Forces Special Powers act in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir. It has also been reported that Abdullah may be waiting for the army to announce a unilateral withdrawal of AFSPA from certain areas of the state.
The other story is the news that the Hinduja brothers have bought a huge new six-floor property right across the Buckingham palace.
