The Norwegian terrorist who unleashed mayhem in Oslo last week saw the Indian right-wing Hindutva movement as an ideological ally in his grand project to organise a pan-global “resistance movement” to wage war on “Islamic imperialism”.
A rambling political manifesto, ‘ 2083: A European Declaration of Independence ’, drawn up by Anders Behring Breivik makes several glowing references to the “Hindu right wing” movement in India, and criticises the UPA government’s policy of “appeasing Muslims”.
“Hindu nationalists in general are suffering from the same persecution by the Indian cultural Marxists as their European cousins,” the manifesto notes.
‘Indian nationalists must strike to win’
“India will continue to wither and die unless the Indian nationalists consolidate properly and strike to win. It is essential that the European and Indian resistance movements learn from each other and cooperate as much as possible. Our goals are more or less identical.”
In the manifesto, Breivik signs off as the “Justiciar Knight Commander” of the “Knights Templar Europe”, the army he is envisages will “liberate” Europe. He says he spent “several years writing, researching and compiling the information” in the manifesto, which offers “ideological, practical, tactical, organisational and rhetorical solutions and strategies for all patriotic-minded individuals/movements.”
And although it has at its core Breivik’s obsession with fighting “Islamic colonisation of Europe” and the spread of multiculturalism, he also uses it as a platform to envisage ideological networks with like-minded groups and movements around the world who share his worldview. It is in that context that the Hindutva movement floats into his orbit.
The manifesto also compiles writing by Hindu right-wing commentators that similarly advance his argument in an Indian context. And towards the end of the document, Breivik weighs in with his view on Hindutva, the quest for a Hindu Rashtra and Hindu nationalism.
The manifesto is striking for the wealth of details and attention it devotes to drawing up an agenda for the Knights Templar army, and even the commendations its generals and foot soldiers will receive. For instance, it lists a “Liberation of India Service Medal” which it says would be “awarded for assisting Indian nationalist forces to drive out Islam from Indian territory.”
Breivik even gives microdetails about the uniform that his Justiciar Knight army would wear, and the medallions and badges they would be given. That, too, has an Indian connection, since he appears to have sourced the design for the military badge from a Varanasi-based art designer . Breivik says he ordered two badges from the Indian Art Company, and that they cost him $220.
Breivik’s writing on India in his manifesto represents in some ways a colossal oversimplification and betrays a lack of nuance about Hindu theological constructs. But it nevertheless offers an insight into his mindset, and his perception that he saw an ideological partner in the Hindutva movement.
Extracts from the document :
Saffronisation is a political neologism (after the saffron robes of the Hindu clerics), used to refer to the policy of right-wing Hindu nationalism (or Hindutva) which seeks to make the Indian state into a “Hindu nation” and its Sikh, Buddhist and Jain minorities incorporated into Hinduism. These nationalist movements are also called Sanatana Dharma movements.
A related term, the Saffron Brigade, is used as a descriptor of people and organisations in India that promote Hindu nationalism such as the Sangh Parivar by their critics, who allege a militant Hindu agenda. The Sanatana Dharma movements or Hindu nationalists in general are suffering from the same persecution by the Indian cultural Marxists as their European cousins.
The thing is, Indian government (current government United Progressive Alliance coalition led by Indian National Congress) is a Socialist-Leftist Liberalist. The other side is National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a political arm to the RSS: these people are of Hindu right wing nationalism comprising of Hindu parties (including Sikh, Buddhist, and Jain sub-sects), strongly supported by Jewish and Zoroastrian minorities.
The UPA (incumbent government) relies on appeasing Muslims and very sadly proselytising Christian missionaries who illegally convert low caste Hindus with lies and fear alongside Communists who want total destruction of the Hindu faith and culture.
The irony in India is that the Hindus who are living abroad (expatriate Hindus) are more concerned about Hindu culture than the ones in India, because from abroad, they can get an eagle’s view of what’s happening in India while Indian Hindu residents don’t see it being in the scene.
The only positive thing about the Hindu right wing is that they dominate the streets. They do not tolerate the current injustice and often riot and attack Muslims when things get out of control, usually after the Muslims disrespect and degrade Hinduism too much. This behaviour is nonetheless counterproductive. Because instead of attacking the Muslims they should target the category A and B traitors in India and consolidate military cells and actively seek the overthrow of the cultural Marxist government.
India will continue to wither and die unless the Indian nationalists consolidate properly and strike to win. It is essential that the European and Indian resistance movements learn from each other and cooperate as much as possible. Our goals are more or less identical.
The PCCTS, Knights Templar support the Sanatana Dharma movements and Indian nationalists in general.
