This morning there is a lot apart from the brand new baby Bachchan occupying media mind space!
There is for instance, outrage over the parole granted to Manu Sharma, who was famously convicted for murdering Jessica Lall in a nightclub because she refused to serve him a drink. This is not the firsy time that Sharma, the son of a high profile Congress leader in Punjab has got parole. This is all the more perplexing because the last time he was on parole he got involved in a massive brawl at a Delhi night club, and when framed against the fact that only a little over 20 per cent of parole applicants are successful.

The other big story in the media is the statement made by the Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai before the Joint Parliamentary Committee, in which he had said that the current controversy over the 2G loss figure would not stop him from investigating other government purchases. In addition to ultra power projects, Rai said his department would look into the awarding of Padma awards.
The third thing we focus on is an extremely interesting advertising campaign run by United Colors of Benetton which has been featured in The Times of India. The picture which is part of a campaign called “Unhate”, features the Chinese Premier Hu Jintao and US President Barack Obama in a lip lock. The campaign also features other world leaders such as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas, as well as the leaders of North and South Korea.
