The main story across newspapers in the national capital today seem to be the foreign secretary level talks underway in Islamabad. All the newspapers have looked at what is on agenda for the discussion. However The Indian Express has gone into a little more detail on the CBM’s or Confidence Building Measures likely to be announced by both sides.
Apart from the talks, Lokpal has been given a great deal of coverage. The Times of India has run a full page story on the bill, which includes a column summarising the key differences between Team Anna and the government, and giving it’s own opinion on what should be done.
In terms of news exclusives and special coverage, The Hindu has run a story on how the government is dragging its feet on a CAG demand for three additional powers. The Times of India has an exclusive on the new privacy bill and how it intends to come down hard on illegal phone tapping, while The Hindustan Times has run a story alleging that Dayanidhi Maran was the ‘real’ Raja of the telecom ministry.
