Poll battles in Uttar Pradesh are finding their way out of homes and on to political stages! This time we have a couple contesting against each other on two different party tickets.
The state’s Shohratgarh constituency in Siddharth Nagar district is witnessing what can be termed a domestic spat on a public platform, as Raveendra Pratap Chaudhary takes on his wife Sadhana Chaudhary.
Pratap is contesting the polls on a Congress ticket while his wife represents the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Earlier Raveendra had remained a two-time BJP legislator and his brother-in-law had a critical role to play in giving him the party ticket.
But as the relationship soured between the couple, the brother started helping his sister.
Although the husband has expressed his anger over the issue, the wife Sadhana said, “Husband and wife do not fight political battles. It is between the BJP and Congress.”
