 "Gujarat polls: BJP will cross 117 seats, says Harin Pathak")
Even as polling in the second phase of Gujarat elections continues, BJP leader Harin Pathak today expressed confidence that the party will cross the 2007 tally of 117 seats in the state Assembly.
“I am sure we are going to increase our tally which was there in 2007. We will cross 1117,” Pathak told CNN-IBN in Ahmedabad.
The BJP leader also said that the Congress will not be able to hold to its traditional bastion in north and central Gujarat where the Patel and Thakur votes are usually pro-Congress.
“I think the Patelism or the Thakur fracture will not affect our party because everybody is benefitted by the BJP. That’s why they will vote for the BJP,” Patel said.
Gujarat votes in the second phase of polls today. The counting of votes is scheduled on 20 December.
