With Parliament set to have a dicussion on the Lokpal bill today, the national press is nudging both team Anna and the government to show more reason and flexibility to help end the 10-day old fast of Anna Hazare. The Economic Times front page story says Govt bends backwards but Anna not convinced but it writes on its editorial page that there is a possiblity of good news from Ramlila Maidan! The Times of India has asked the government to show more flexibility on its edit page even as front page headline " PM walks extra mile , Anna Unmoved" sings a different tune.
The Hindustan Times and the Indian Express have similar headlines on their front page. HT says Anna break fast on Parliament Menu while the ndian Express headline is “House puts debate on Anna’s plate”. Both HT and Express have exhorted the anti-crafts crusader, Anna Hazare, to make a grand gesture to resolve the impasse. HT says “Move an inch ti walk a mile” asking Anna to remember that its more important to ensure that the best Lokpal bill is forged rather than whose bill it is! Indian Express has also front paged a story on differences within team Anna quoting Justice Santosh Hegde and Swami Agnivesh–both key members of team Anna so far–and writing about their differences with Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi.
