Four senior ministers from the cabinet, Jairam Ramesh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Salman Khurshid and Vayalar Ravi, have reportedly offered to leave the ministry and work for the party. Replying to Rajdeep Sardesai on a CNN-IBN late-night discussion when asked if this reshuffle is too little too late, Yogendra Yadav said, " When we talk about cabinet reshuffle the assumption is that the whole design is right…I am not so sure. I think the real vacuum is at the top. There is no political vision."

Comparing this revamp to Kamaraj’s plan, Yadav also pointed out the difference perhaps was in the many grassroots leaders that the Congress could build on, in those times.

On a probable early elections in 2014, Yadav said that strong government get the elections advanced and weak governments never do that.
