As the Haryana Janhit Congress candidate Kuldeep Bishnoi leads over his nearest rival Ajay Singh Chautala of INLD by over 29,000 votes after seven rounds of counting for the bypolls to the Hisar Lok Sabha seat, the brain child behind The India Against Corruption movement said a win for Congress means no support for Jan Lokapl Bil in Hisar.
Speaking exclusively to CNBC-TV 18, Kejriwal said that Team Anna is not opposed to any particular party but, he clarified that they have asked people to not vote for Congress since they did not bring the Lokpal Bill. “Until they bring the Lokpal Bill, you don’t vote for Congress and once they do get it, you can vote in their favour,” he said.
When questioned about the trust deficit in the government, Kejriwal said that there were 33 differences between the government’s Lokpal and Team Anna’s Lokpal. And before the bypolls, Team Anna had pleaded all political parties to include the Lokpal Bill in their Manifesto. However, Kejriwal said while all other political parties supported Anna, the Congress again began to question Anna’s motive and raised suspicion “and this is what they have been doing.”
Defending their anti-congress campaign at Hisar, Kejriwal said if the Lokpal Bill needss to be passed, the battle has to be fought on the streets and not inside board rooms. “Our purpose is to keep on building pressure on the government rather than wait for the winter session to be over and then again be taken aback,” he said.
