In our busy lives, one may not always have time to dedicate a full hour to yoga. But even a 15-minute practice can have tremendous benefits.

Yogacara founder and author of Just Breathe , Radhika Vachani demonstrated just how you can work in an effective 15-minute-long session of yoga into your daily routine.

In this special video tutorial for Firstpost, Radhika began by showing how to breathe properly. Most of us breathe only through the chest and nostrils. But that barely utilises our full lung capacity. Yogic breathing, on the other hand, can help develop your lung capacity.

Radhika also had some quick lessons to offer in Marjariasana — a quick warm-up for the spine, before she launched into a series of asanas that depicted how to correct your posture.

The session ended with Trikonasana, and stretching.

On International Yoga Day, here’s hoping this little tutorial inspires you to delve deeper into the practice of yoga — under the guidance of a certified teacher, of course.
