“What is the best way to deal with a hangover?”

How many times have we have sent a variation of this message after a rough (or amazing) night out?

Anybody who has been on the receiving end of a hangover has wished for a simpler, swifter solution to get rid of it instead of chugging copious amounts of caffeine and paracetamol.

Well, a clinic in Australia might have the answer, albeit at a steep price.

A clinic in Sydney has opened the first ever hangover recovery centre, according to a report by the local 3News .

The Hangover Clinic claims to be able to cure the dreaded morning-after hangover within half an hour and without having to do much, says the report.

Among the various treatments the innovative clinic offers, there are intravenous (IV) drips combined with a cocktail of vitamins, headache tablets and oxygen therapy to get people back on their feet, reports the Mirror .

While these treatment methods sound sufficiently scientific, there is however, the minor matter of it being situated in Australia. To add to that, the hangover treatment is anything but cheap.

The basic drips start at $140 (That’s almost Rs 10,000) per time and if you really need a pick-me-up, the one-hour treatment costs $200 which includes two litres of hydration drip, oxygen therapy and those vitamins. Oh! And there is also a VIP lounge for group recovery, just in case the hangover was a group effort, as reported in 3News .

While this may sound way more expensive than the humble greasy-fast-food-and-coffee option we usually reach out for, the clinic says it’s worth it compared to the fast-food option.

Having intravenous fluids, that can have benefits. As for having something like Maccas, that can be debated and that’s something that I wouldn’t be recommending,” the clinic’s Rod Lang was quoted as saying by 3News

Well, well, well, this Christmas we wish such clinics would become more common world over (and more economic.)
