Bad experiences with big companies this year were not uncommon: either your products were not delivered, sometimes they were lost and sometimes they were delivered to you, but not in one piece.

Bad experiences with big companies this year were not uncommon: either your products were not delivered, or you were given what you didn’t want. Big companies like Snapdeal and Flipkart ran into trouble for coming for shoddy customer services.

Here are some of the big company booboos that happened this year.

1. Snapdeal’s vim bar incident

According to a Facebook post by Laxminarayan Krishnamurthy, he opened a package containing what he thought was his new Samsung Duos smartphone. Sadly his joy turned to annoyance when it turned out to contain instead, a bar of Vim soap and a brick. His FB post, published on 24 October was shared more than 16,000 times. But on 27 October, Krishnamurthy commented on the post saying that it had been more than a week but Snapdeal had not resolved the issue. However, on 28 October, he commented saying, “Snapdeal has finally promised to return the money within 5-6 working days!!” Well, at least he had a happy ending.

2. Flipkart does a Snapdeal

Post by Adarsh Anandan .

Flipkart took a leaf out of Snapdeal’s book and according to a FB post by Adarsh Anandan, Flipkart sent him empty boxes instead of the pen drive he ordered. Not once, not twice, by three times. Annoyed with Flipkart, the Mysore resident decided to share the pictures on Facebook.  However the second time over instead of being apologetic, FlipKart indirectly started suggesting that maybe he kept the pen-drive and was making a ruckus just for no reason. So, he placed an order for the third time and decided to film it.

Dombivali resident Avinash Pai claims he was allegedly served water that seemed to have been contaminated with dishwashing detergent. Pai registered a police complaint with Vashi police station for being threatened and being served contaminated water and has filed a written complaint with Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He unfortunately gulped the water before realising its rancid taste and complained to his server, who promptly gave him a lame excuse of the water being put in a lemonade jug. He has so far been directed to food inspector who would take forward his case.
