The past decade has seen a 10% drop in the number of women who are part of the work force in India. In 2005, there was a rise in the number of working women and the number stood at 37%. However, the number fell drastically in the coming years, going as low as 27% in 2014. Some reasons for women not being part of the workforce include lack of access to higher education among women and dearth of work opportunities.
