Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh today announced a Rs 10 crore financial assistance to the Uttarakhand government for relief and rehabilitation works in the calamity-hit hill state.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will spend another Rs 40 crore on construction of pilgrim amenities complexes at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who held a high-level review meeting in Hyderabad today with chief secretary PK Mohantry and other officials, also announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of Andhra Pradesh pilgrims killed in the Uttarakhand floods.
This will be in addition to the ex gratia already announced by the Centre and other agencies, a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office said.
The chief minister announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh each, house sites at their native places and employment to the eligible kin of armed forces jawans Yadaiah and Vinayakam who were killed in terrorists’ attack in Jammu-Kashmir and helicopter crash during the Uttarakhand rescue operations, respectively.
