Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told political leaders that at least 100 terrorists were killed in yesterday’s airstrikes under Operation Sindoor during an all-party meeting on Thursday.

The central government called an all-party meeting today to brief the leaders of the opposition about Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist camps in PoK and Pakistan, destroying hubs linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Toiba.

During the meeting, which was attended by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and others, Rajnath Singh said that the precision attacks carried out on nine terrorist hideouts killed 100 terrorists, although “the counting is still on”.

The government also said that the operation is still underway, and therefore, more details cannot be shared at the moment.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju lamented the spread of fake news over the situation. He said, “Many fake news is being propagated to spread fake news, and hence, I appeal to all in this time not to trust any fake news coming out of the country or from within the country and to trust only authentic information.”

He also acknowledged the Opposition’s support during this time and said that everyone is working “together”. “The meeting was chaired by defence minister Rajnath Singh, who briefed everyone about t Operation Sindoor and all the leaders gave their suggestions. All the leaders have shown maturity at a time when we are all working together. Everyone has hailed and congratulated the armed forces for Operation Sindoor, and said that we will support the government and armed forces. We have received a few suggestions as well,” Rijiju said.

‘Govt has out full support’

Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, said, “We gave full support, and what Kharge ji said is right — there are certain things that shouldn’t be discussed. Everyone simply gave their support.”

Sources told News18 that while Gandhi asked the government certain questions about the operation, he did not push for answers, saying, “very clearly that we understand how this really works and what the situation is."
