Delhi Traffic Police rolls out AI videos, navigation apps and shuttles for seamless Republic Day 2026 at Kartavya Path.

Delhi Traffic Police unveils comprehensive technology measures for Republic Day 2026 at Kartavya Path, ensuring orderly movement during the parade and Beating Retreat ceremony. Integration of digital navigation, animated briefings and enhanced ground facilities targets smooth access for over 77000 pass holders amid heightened security.

Ai powered video guides

Authorities utilise artificial intelligence to create detailed animated sequences illustrating guest arrivals, disembarkation, parking allocation and departures. Available on the Ministry of Defence site and through QR codes on entry passes, these aids equip invitees with prior knowledge of protocols. With 77000 passes distributed yearly, 8000 designate private vehicle access across 22 lots holding 8000 cars, streamlining the influx.

Navigation and parking aids

Invitees access Google Maps and Mappls for turn by turn directions to assigned bays. Mappls includes a bespoke Republic Day panel, whereas Google Maps highlights ingress egress corridors alongside precise lot positions. Post ceremony, a car summoning mechanism curbs gatherings at exits, as officers broadcast registration numbers or driver names via parking zone speakers, prompting swift pickups.

Shuttle services launched

New shuttle operations serve security forces from hubs at Khan Market, Amrita Shergill Marg, Patel Chowk Metro Station and HC Mathur Lane. Departures every 10 minutes transport staff to posts, reducing reliance on personal vehicles and bolstering operational readiness for the expansive event footprint.

Expanded ground support

Help points expand to 12 sites from prior years two: Moti Lal Nehru Place rotary, Sunehri Masjid rotary, Man Singh rotary, Jaswant Singh rotary, GPO rotary, Windsor Place rotary, Mandi House rotary, Q point, Teen Murti rotary, Janpath Dr Rajendra Prasad Road junction, Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium gate 14 and Palika Parking. Teams stationed there dispense counsel on bays, footpaths and checks.

Centralised monitoring hub

January 26 hosts a unified command centre merging traffic police, general forces, fire brigade and rescue units for real time oversight. Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stresses scaled tech deployment to facilitate seamless flows for cars and walkers alike. Citizens receive calls to heed bulletins, prioritise mass transit and leverage applications for unhindered passage.
