New Zealand would be boosted by the return of some of their big names in the T20Is, while India is facing multiple injury issues. Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the T20I series due to a side strain, while Tilak Varma is out of the first three T20Is due to a recent surgery for an abdominal issue.

Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi have added to India's T20 squad for the series against New Zealand, and they would hope to impress if given a chance. With the T20 World Cup 2026 starting next month, there’s a chance Washington Sundar and Tilak Varma may miss out if they don’t recover on time.
