Home Minister Amit Shah has said that Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev exemplify the Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
In an interview with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, Shah said Operation Sindoor, India’s targeted strike on terror infrastructure in Pakistan on the night of May 6-7 was launched to demonstrate that “India’s borders and its people cannot be tampered with.”
The operation was carried out in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Kashmir in which 26 civilians were killed after terrorists opened fire on them upon confirming their religious identities.
Speaking more broadly, Shah also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during the COVID-19 crisis, saying that many of his initiatives, once mocked, are now praised globally.
