Maharashtra election results: BJP leads vote share table, Congress second in MVA

Maharashtra election results: BJP leads vote share table, Congress second in MVA

Maharashtra has once again voted BJP-led Mahayuti alliance to power. The Election Commission of India (ECI) began counting of votes on Saturday and post noon most of the 288 assembly seats were in the kitty of parties who are part of Mahayuti.

The final Maharashtra election result 2024 will be out by Saturday (November 23) evening.

With November 26 as the set deadline for the formation of the new government, Mahayuti alliance members - BJP, Shive Sena (Eknath Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar) - will have to speed up to decide who will be the next chief minister of the state.

Which party in the Mahayuti alliance is leading?

According to the ECI, at 01:15 pm, BJP was leading on 125 seats and has won one, while Shiv Sena (Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar) were leading in 55 and 38 seats respectively.

Meanwhile, among Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) were leading on 19 seats respectively, while NCP (Sharad Pawar) was leading on 13 seats.

BJP leads vote share table

As per Maharashtra election vote share table, BJP was leading not just over its MVA alliance members but among all the other parties which contested in the election.

At 01:15 pm, BJP’s vote share was 25.37 per cent, with Congress being on far second at 10.91 per cent.

To form a government in Maharashtra, a party or an alliance needs to win 145 of the 288-seat assembly.

Meanwhile, BJP will hold the Maharashtra Legislative Party meeting on November 25 and is also expected to hold talks with the other Mahayuti alliance parties, a report by ANI quoted sources as saying.

The meeting will be held ahead of an oath-taking ceremony on November 26.
